Pidgin is a GTK2-based instant messenger application. It supports multiple protocols via modules, including AIM, ICQ, Yahoo!, MSN, Jabber, IRC, Napster, Gadu-Gadu and Zephyr. It has many common features found in other clients, as well as many unique features. Pidgin is not endorsed by or affiliated with AOL TimeWarner, Microsoft, or Yahoo.

Release Notes: This release fixes a remotely-triggerable crash when using an ICQ account. It fixes receiving messages from users of MySpace's Web IM client. There are various other minor bugfixes.
Release Notes: This is a bugfix release. ICQ is reporting errors in some locations, which is generally fixed by upgrading to this release.
Release Notes: The input text area in a conversation window now automatically resizes to fit more lines. The ability to customize conversation name colors through a theme was added. Having multiple alias edit areas in the infopane was fixed. The conversation "Enable Logging" option is now saved on a per-contact basis. Typing notifications are now shown in the conversation area.
