Release Notes: This version is the result of over 1 million domains being moved to PowerDNS, and the bugfixing fallout of that process. Many large-scale issues have been addressed, and lot of corner cases have been fixed. Additionally, it is now possible to modify the version reporting, or even hide it completely.
Release Notes: This release adds the contributed Geobackend which enables the operator to send out different answers based on the geographical location of the end-user. Furthermore, recurser hand-off now works on big-endian platforms. This version should compile a lot better than earlier versions.
Release Notes: After the 2.9.14 release, some nasty bugs appeared. This version makes logging work, allows LDAP to compile again, and fixes stability problems in the recursor. It improves statistics on the new "fastest nameserver selection" code. Some dependencies that are no longer needed have been removed. You can now pipe the output of "dig" directly into zone2sql.
Release Notes: This release fixes a rare 2^30 seconds bug causing master/slave support to fail. A major improvement is that the PDNS recursor now chooses the fastest nameserver, which has caused a benchmark to double in speed. There is more LDAP work, and logging works as expected again. This is a recommended upgrade.
Release Notes: 64-bit userland (Opteron) support was added, some annoying bugs in netmask handling were fixed, and MySQL error logging was improved. The recursor can now survive prolonged disconnections from the Internet, which previously caused the root records to expire. The LDAP backend now supports TLS connections.
Release Notes: This release adds Verisign delegation-only features and sqlite support. Pdns_recursor is now rock solid for many users. Answers are now shuffled to aid in roundrobin. A large number of cleanups were made.
Release Notes: This release brings behaviour with respect to AXFR access control in line with the documentation. Furthermore, the LDAP backend was upgraded to support zone transfers. Compilation problems on Solaris have been fixed, as well as several stray debugging messages interfering with pdns_control. The recursor now frees memory for expired cache entries.
Release Notes: This version features a fix for the crashes that suddenly appeared in version 2.9.8. The bug was in fact present in all previous releases, so an upgrade is advised. Furthermore, LDAP support received a lot of work and there are now features for operators with tens of thousands of slave domains over slow links.
Release Notes: Support for AIX and recursion on TCP, fixes for bugs with negatively cached entries in the recursor, a newly contributed Zone2LDAP tool for migrating from BIND zonefiles to LDAP, fixes for some minor protocol violations that upset TLD maintainers, and a contributed Solaris init.d script.
Release Notes: This release brings cleaups and a large number of improvements and bugfixes. It is also more stardards-compliant than before. Furthermore, an experimental version of the next generation BIND-compatibility backend is included. Testing of this backend is requested.
