Release Notes: This version adds powerful Lua scripting abilities, allowing operators to modify DNS queries before and after processing. One important bug in dealing with changed delegations was fixed, plus a handful of small issues. Finally, this version compiles out of the box on recent versions of OS X.
Release Notes: This version fixes two unfortunate bugs, one with slight security implications. The first bug impacts heavily loaded servers trying to resolve domains with nameservers broken in a specific way. The other bug implies that the new random generator was not used for UDP source port selection.
Release Notes: This release adds the ability to serve authoritative data to users, using a simple configuration. The contents of /etc/hosts can be published over DNS, which should allow many installations to do without zones at all. Full use is now made of any published IPv6 nameserver addresses. Other improvements have raised the cache hit rate and sped up Active Directory queries. RFC compliance was improved.
Release Notes: This version can serve authorative zones or forward queries for domains so configured to external nameservers. IPv6 outgoing nameservers can now be used if they are faster or as fast as IPv4 nameservers (though this is disabled by default). Support was added for exporting knowledge from /etc/hosts to the local subnet, without further zone configurations. Support for non-UNIX operating systems was improved.
Release Notes: This version is only slightly different from the last -pre3 prerelease. From this release onwards, x86_64 rpms and debs are available.
