Release Notes: This is a major release that adds support for AES encryption and Hash based Message Authentication. AES is used in CTR mode with per-chunk sequential nonce values. Unique encryption Keys are generated for every session even if the same password is used. The Scrypt mechanism from Tarsnap is utilized to generated Keys from passwords. This also includes highly-optimized SSE/AVX versions of SHA256 from Intel with runtime CPUID detection and fall-back to OpenSSL. HMAC is used to verify file and chunk headers to detect tampering.
Release Notes: This second beta release adds new features and many improvements. Memory requirements have been reduced. Deduplication performance and accuracy have been improved. Pcompress now adds support for multithreaded LZMA and Ilya Grebnov's block-sorting compressor. It also includes Lempel Ziv pre-compression (via a commandline option) for all algorithms, resulting in improved compression ratios across the board. A simple configuration script for generating properly-configure Makefiles and build documentation has been added.
Release Notes: This major beta release includes a plethora of functional and stability fixes and other improvements. The similarity detection in the Delta Compression code has been improved to reduce false positives and missed opportunities. Some performance optimizations have been added, and a new "none" compression mode has been added to only Dedupe for later compressing with another utility.
