The Parted Magic OS employs core programs from GParted and Parted to handle partitioning tasks with ease, while featuring other useful programs including Partition Image, TestDisk, fdisk, sfdisk, dd, and ddrescue and an excellent set of documentation to benefit the user. An extensive collection of fileystem tools are also included, and the following filesystems are supported: ext2, ext3, ext4, FAT16, FAT32, HFS, HFS+, JFS, Linux-swap, NTFS, ReiserRS, reiser4, and XFS. It loads completely to system memory and requires at least 256MB of RAM to operate.

Release Notes: This release updates a few key programs. GParted has been updated to 0.11.0. The nilfs patch has been pulled from GIT and applied to this release. This means you can create and move nilfs with GParted. The kernel is updated to Linux 3.1.6 and Firefox to 9.0.1.


Release Notes: There are some major changes that might cause some issues with the Multi-Boot-CD crowd. For a long time, the pmagic-<version>.sqfs and Initramfs would not be found on completely supported computers. Updated programs: lilosetup 0.2.9.1, testdisk 6.13, and Linux 3.1.2.


Release Notes: This is a major enhancement release with many updates. The most notable updates include Linux 3.0.4 and GParted 0.9.1. The legacy PCManFM for PCMan-Mod has been dropped. Many little PCManfm bugs that have existed for years are now quashed. Xfburn replaces SimpleBurn for burning CDROM/DVD media. Chntwd was added to the boot menu. Adding Luxi fonts improved international language support. Although it's not the newest released, Firefox is updated to firefox-6.0.2 and compiled for i486 (official branding included) with permission from the Mozilla Foundation.
