Release Notes: A crash on multi-processor systems and a hang with Tcl/Tk initialization have been fixed. Support for SPARC Solaris 9 has been added. There are numerous bugfixes and performance enhancements based on testing and user feedback.

Release Notes: In response to requests, this release requires only GLIBC_2.3 and libOSMesa.so.4. Tcl/Tk 8.4.4 has been statically linked, removing any Tcl/Tk dependency. This should improve compatibility with Debian and other non-Fedora, non-Red Hat distributions of Linux.

Release Notes: This is the first Mac OS X Panther version (requires X11.app). It performs well on Mac hardware and with Mac OS X. Performance improvements of 20% plus as well as improved reliability and performance of Web content acquisition and analysis. It now properly consumes near-zero CPU when idle. There is a new message passing API that doesn't use POSIX IPC. Other portability refactoring was performed.
