Release Notes: All enhancements and bugfixes from the 1.17 development branch were integrated, such as improved text justification, environment variable support for determining Pango's languages, support for new OpenType APIs, and various optimizations and fixes.
Release Notes: Support for vertical writing systems was added. Performance when rendering layouts multiple times was improved. New Thai, Indic, and Arabic language engines were introduced, improving line breaking and cursor positioning in their respective languages. Since the last development release, font selection for space characters was improved, documentation was improved, and some fixes to the build system were made.

Release Notes: This stable added new functionality, introduced many optimizations, and improved stability. A cairo+ATSUI backend was added for rendering using native fonts on Mac OS X. Glib 2.10 or later is now required.
Release Notes: This release adds integration with the cairo vector graphics library. A Khmer shaper was added. Data tables were updated to Unicode 4.1.
Release Notes: This is the first release in the 1.8 series of pango. It brings several enhancements.
