ova

ova is a convenient console frontend for ripping CDs and encoding MP3 and wave files to the Ogg Vorbis format. It is also able to query the CDDB given a CD (or saved CD discid) or several MP3/Ogg Vorbis/wave files (very useful for downloaded albums). Ogg Vorbis files can be tagged and renamed according to elaborate patterns.

Release Notes: A new script, ova-hardlink, and a front-end to it for ova were added. It makes hard links for a given albums or all albums. This allows you to have several different paths to music files while using little additional disk space, and gives a very useful way to find albums in the music archive.

Release Notes: Support was added for CDDB protocol level 6. The install script won't overwrite existing configuration files, and instead installs new files (if different) to file.conf.new. New scripts include ova-sed (processes a given .ogg file's comments with sed), ova-lint (checks for files with missing tags and for missing tracks in the middle of albums), and ova-cue2offsets (converts a cue sheet to an offsets file readable by tracksplit). The tracksplit program has been enhanced to support seeking (--seek=FRAMES) in the input file.

Release Notes: The encoder handles QUIT as abort when current jobs finish. It will also do nothing if the queue is already empty, and will now display total decoded/encoded playlength progress. The ripper has correct detection of already ripped, encoded, identified, tagged, and relocated tracks.
