Release Notes: This is the first beta release. This version is already pretty stable and used in several production environments. Index optimization is no longer required. Both file and Web crawlers are updated in realtime. The new search request includes new min, max, and count functions using collapsing. The REST crawler can index data available as a RESTful Web service using a JSON path.
Release Notes: This release adds many user interface improvements and new features. A new PDF viewer is able to highlight searched keywords on PDF pages. This powerful new feature also supports scanned PDF documents (OCR). Visio and Publisher documents are supported, and RSS feeds are indexed. A new report module provides information on the most often-searched words and which words don't return a document. Information about users and groups are extracted while browsing CIFS/SMB and FTP repositories.
Release Notes: The beta2 unveils the new scheduler base on the powerful Quartz Scheduler. This feature lets you plan periodic jobs without needing external tools (crontab, task planner, etc.). Each job may contain several tasks. You may start/stop the file or Web crawler, launch a database crawl, optimize the index, or replicate the index on one or more OpenSearchServer instances. The beta2 is stable and already used in production. This release also include some bugfixes.
