OptiPNG

OptiPNG is a PNG optimizer that recompresses the image files to a smaller size without losing any data. It works in a manner similar to pngcrush, but it has a wider automatic search space (leading to possibly a better compression), and it runs faster.

    Release Notes: This is a maintenance release that contains compatibility fixes regarding libpng-1.5 and libpng-1.6, as well as a few other minor additions.

      Release Notes: This release upgrades libpng to version 1.2.36-optipng [private]. It fixes a use-after-free error in the GIF reader. The output log displays the current trial in real time. An error in reporting unrecognized file formats has been fixed. The requirement to "fix" TIFF files that contain unrecognized metadata has been removed. The option abbreviation rules have been simplified. The requirement to "fix" TIFF files that contain unrecognized metadata has been removed. Option names can now be abbreviated to their shortest unique prefix, as in X11 applications.
