Release Notes: 1040 Schedule C, Business taxes was added. Sched-C is provided as a separate download package, since not everyone needs it. This release also contains improvements and fixes due to feedback from several users. To demonstrate support across all platforms, updated precompiled binary executables for MS-Windows were posted for all forms written to date, since many MS-Windows PCs lack compilers. The latest source versions are always available for Linux, Unix, etc.
Release Notes: A reported bug was fixed in the calculation of the USFed Sched-A worksheet (pg 6) which determines if deductions are limited because you made too much money. A printout was added to give better feedback on whether your deductions are limited. CVS and the download package were updated.
Release Notes: The North Carolina 2003 state tax form has been added to OTS. It automatically imports your Federal 1040 return. OTS versions are now available for CA, PA, NY, NJ, and Federal 1040 for 2003.
Release Notes: This release updates the OpenTaxSolver Webpages to include easier download instructions for the 2003/2004 packages.
Release Notes: The calculations for the 2003 1040 Schedule A, B, and D worksheets were updated. Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) calculation, new IRS 5yr cap gains, and pre/post May 5th long term tax rate calculations were also updated. MS-Windows executables were also posted, since many machines on that platform do not have compilers. Forms can be easily updated in future years or extended to various state tax forms. Already, California, New York, New Jersey, and Pensylvania state tax versions have been posted.
