OpenJNLP

OpenJNLP is an Open Source implementation of the Java Network Launching Protocol (JNLP). This protocol provides the ability to run a Java application or applet from the Internet without requiring a Web browser or downloading and installing anything.

    Release Notes: Locale- and platform-specific JNLP parsing has been added. Native library support has also been added to the app launching. Improved functionality in the user interface includes a console window for seeing output from launched apps. Also provided is a better info window for apps in the app list.

      Release Notes: Fixes for some bugs from the previous version, most notably fixing updating of the app list when getting a new app and corrections in the parsing of JNLP files to support properties.

        Release Notes: Major improvements have been made to caching. The cache has been overhauled, and now provides automatic resource updating when resources are determined to be out of date. Launching has also been completely revamped, resulting in a streamlined launch process. Users now get meaningful feedback during app launching.

          Release Notes: This release adds external JVM launching. A new Java virtual machine is started each time the user launches an application from OpenJNLP. External JVM launching is a significant improvement in behavior, especially for Mac OS X and Mac OS 9 users.
