    Release Notes: Pixels can now store a variable length list of samples. Files can now contain a number of separate, but related, images in one file. A namespacing mechanism has been added to I1mBase libraries. Assorted bugfixes.

      Release Notes: This release adds support for stereoscopic images and 64-bit Windows, bugfixes for buffer overruns and assorted minor bugs, and minor additions and optimizations.

        Release Notes: This release reduces generational loss in B44- and B44A-compressed images. B44A compression has been added. Various bugs have been fixed, including a buffer overrun.

          Release Notes: This release added support for multithreaded reading and writing of files, Intel-based Mac OS X, and Visual Studio 2005. Building against OpenEXR headers was cleaned up. Handling of incomplete or damaged files was improved. IRIX, OSF/1, SunOS, Mac OS X prior to 10.3, and GCC prior to 3.3 were deprecated. New features were added to the documentation, and many bugs in the code, build system, and documentation were fixed.

            Release Notes: Support for multithreaded file reading and writing, support for Intel-based OS X systems, and support for Visual Studio 2005 was added. Better handling was implemented for PLATFORM_* and HAVE_* macros. The documentation was updated. Bugs related to the handling of incomplete and damaged files were fixed. There were also numerous bugfixes and cleanups in the autoconf-based build system. Support for IRIX, OSF/1, SunOS, and OS/X prior to 10.3 was removed. Support for versions of GCC prior to 3.3 was also removed.

              Release Notes: This release adds support for Windows and improves support for OS X. Hardware rendering support has been added for NVIDIA GeForce FX and Quadro FX video cards. Many additional image attributes. Numerous bugfixes. Support has been added for tiled images, multi-resolution files (mip/ripmaps), environment maps, abstracted file I/O, high-dynamic-range luminance/chroma images with subsampled chroma channels, and high dynamic-range YCA (luminance/chroma/alpha) images with subsampled chroma channels. Pixar's lossy PXR24 image compression algorithm has been added. Fixes for Visual C++ and GCC 3.4. The windows build can now produce DLLs.
