OpenEMR

OpenEMR is a medical practice management, electronic medical records, prescription writing, and medical billing application. It is a replacement for medical applications such as Medical Manager, Health Pro, and Misys. It features support for EDI billing to clearing houses such as MedAvant and ZirMED using ANSI X12. Major features include electronic billing (includes Medicare), document management, integrated practice management, e-prescribing, prescriptions by printed script, fax, or email, insurance tracking, multilanguage support, easy customization, easy Windows installation, integration with an external general accounting program (SQL-Ledger), and a built-in scheduler. It is multi-facility capable, voice recognition ready (on Windows), and Web based (secure access with SSL certificates).

Release Notes: A new customized form building tool (Layout-Based Form Method). The style and function of the default calendar have been improved. This release allows changing of calendar styles without logging out. Reports in the CAMOS module can be printed in PDF or HTML. It adds a configurable online help link, improved patient billing statements, and an improved X12 claims engine. The backup feature is cross-platform (now also compatible with Windows). Optimization of patient searching. An updated ICD codes loading script. Supports the Portuguese language (both Brazilian and European dialects). UTF-8 encoding bugfixes.

Release Notes: The new release has integrated practice management, improved multi-language support, and E-Prescribing. We have packaged a very easy to install Windows version using Xampp version 1.7.0. Thanks! “Friends of Apache.”

Release Notes: Electronic billing has been added to the OpenEMR code (FreeB is no longer needed). Dutch language support has been added. There are multiple upgrades and bugfixes.

    Release Notes: There have been multiple upgrades over the last several releases. This release has been upgraded for PHP 5 and MySQL 5.

    Release Notes: Enhancements were made to access control. A new utility was added to simplify setting up access control. UB-92 claims are supported. Patients may be deleted by an administrator. A new interface was added to the ReferCare referral management system. New encounter forms were added for assessment intake, clinical notes, sports injury, podiatry, specialist notes, and sports fitness. "Modal" cascaded popup windows are used for improved user interfacing. Patient information may be exported in batch. Patient searching is done by "lastname, firstname".
