OGSA-DAI is a product that supports distributed data management. Relational, XML, and file-based data is supported. A variety of popular database management systems are supported. The software also includes a collection of components for querying, transforming, translating, joining, and delivering data in different ways, and a simple toolkit for developing client applications. OGSA-DAI is designed to be extensible, so users can provide their own additional functionality.

Release Notes: Support was added for a custom binary relational data format that is more efficient than WebRowSet, yet avoids the information loss issues of comma-separated values. Support was added for RDF resources, which allows querying of Jena SDB databases and SPARQL endpoints using SPARQL. A generic SQLStatement activity from OGSA-DAI WS-DAIR was included, which allows the running of SQL queries, updates, stored procedures, and functions. Support was added for the modulo function in DQP. Numerous bugs were fixed.
Release Notes: A number of new OGSA-DAI activities, a document-based workflow client, additional clients, prototype workflow transformation and configuration, hidden resources, an example workflow monitoring plug-in, support for MDS registration in Globus-compliant versions, bugfixes, usability fixes, robustness fixes, and extensive refactoring of the user documentation. This release is designed to be backwards compatible with 3.0. Downloads compatible with Apache Axis 1.2.1, Apache Axis 1.4, Globus 4.0.5, Globus 4.0.8, OMII 3.4.2, and Globus 4.2 are available.
