odt2txt extracts the text out of OpenDocument Texts. It is small, fast and portable, can output the document in your console encoding, and has very few external dependencies.

    Release Notes: By removing a check of the MIME type included in the input files, odt2txt will now also work on older XML files (*.sxw), which were produced by version 1.x and older StarOffice versions.

      Release Notes: This release adds a manual page, removes trailing whitespace from produced texts, and uses the system zlib instead of its own implementation.

        Release Notes: This release fixes line-wrapping problems with texts that contain many non-ASCII characters and fixes UTF-16 output. The handling of vertical whitespace is now more consistent, and the new --output option allows writing output to a file.
