Software 4 Open Communities

Software 4 Open Communities (oc4ware) provides Web community portal software in the scope of the Semantic Web initiative, making possible distributed context-sensitive online publishing and retrieval in self-organised groups of interest. It is currently useful for distributed content management and online publishing systems (Web services, online journals, etc.).

        Release Notes: This release is a thorough rewrite of the code base. Installation is much easier now, many new features have been added and many APIs have become stable.

          Release Notes: This release will convert the displayed date/time to the time zone of the Web site (if the user is anonymous) or of registered/logged in members. Selection of the root Web site (the Web site on which the oc4ware installation runs) has been added, as well as time zone selection for registered members, and new basic GUIs for Web site data manipulation. You can control whether a data object can be manipulated, retrieved, or harvested. A language field has been added to the catalog table and frontends. License confirmation in the registration process has been moved to be before email validation.

            Release Notes: The journal system is extended (subjects can be assigned to a journal, and the journal admin has support for pending publications.). The table of contents is cached in the publications module. All content items have now a language field. The catalogues module has support for UTF-8. A license check has been added to the registration process.
