noaadata-py is a library for handling marine Automatic Identification System (AIS) messages and NOAA marine data messages from It has extensions to handle the USCG N-AIS receive fields. For AIS ship traffic, noaadata provides bridges to Sqlite3 and PostgreSQL/Postgis databases. It is able to generate Google Earth KML files for AIS. It is part of the UNH/NOAA Chart of the Future project.

    Release Notes: The AIS to PostGIS network bridge has been cleaned up. Support has been added for post-processing additional formats of tide station data and for converting to the NOAA one point per every 6 minute standard. Normalization of AIS NMEA was improved.

      Release Notes: The epydoc HTML is no longer packaged in the tar. The IMO met hydro ice field was cleaned up. now has get_station and get_contents. doc/ais.bib now has more references, and doc/templates includes a Python template. A new howto was provided in doc/configure-ais-logging.txt. Other changes were made.
