Release Notes: New features focus on making NFC more administerable, including parameters to prevent /kick'd (from a room) or /kill'd (from the server) users from rejoining for a configurable time period. A new persistance package allows permanant storage of ignore lists and admin priviledges. With 1.1 a new, lightweight client applet is also introduced. Finally, there are several minor bugs fixed over 1.0.8.
Release Notes: This release mostly fixes bugs related to logging and incorrect startup scripts. Also, by popular demand, the functionality of the JdbcAuthenticator (which controls authentication of users using a database) has been enhanced. You can now restrict all access to the chat server to only the users in the database, and you can encrypt passwords in the database. The use of the JdbcAuthenticator is documented in "database authentication.html" in the docs directory.
Release Notes: A completely overhauled build system to use Ant instead of Make; NFC builds into a Servlet 2.2-compliant Web application that can be dropped into any Servlet 2.2 (or better) servlet engine, such as Tomcat.
Release Notes: Support for custom translations without recompiling (English, Italian, and "Jive" translations are included), initial implementation of "channel ops" (/op and /kick command added), and a more configurable commands file.
Release Notes: An initial Swing GUI for users of the Java Plugin (works in Mozilla), and numerous bugfixes.
Release Notes: Load balancing/distributed backend is implemented. Installation docs have been significantly improved, and some code refactoring was done.
Release Notes: Changes to the client include an added sound for private and error messages, the addition of an option to show or hide the button bar, and greater userfriendliness through popping up dialog boxes to query for data instead of displaying an error. New additions to the server include an integrated generic JDBC authentication module, the implementation of idle timeouts and password protected rooms, and the maintenence of a list of the last 5 logins.
Release Notes: Look and feel changes, including the addition of image buttons. Integrated MySQL authenticator. Install documentation added. Windows batch files for building and running added. Autologin and keepalive parameters for applet added. Ignore and Unignore commands added.
Release Notes: Chat windows can now handle clickable hyperlinks. A new applet parameter called "autojoin" was added. A menu item to select a font was added. Some miscellaneous bugs were fixed.
