I had a problem compiling this -- score.c included <values.h>, which is obsolete and on modern systems (or at least OS X) is replaced with <limits.h>. I wrote a patch in the configure.in and score.c; it's hacked together for sure, but it should compile on both systems now. Here are the diff reports, if you want to apply them:
diff configure.in configure.in.old
< AC_CHECK_HEADERS(fcntl.h sys/time.h unistd.h ncurses.h limits.h)
> AC_CHECK_HEADERS(fcntl.h sys/time.h unistd.h ncurses.h)
diff score.c score.c.old
< // If user has limits.h, use that instead
< #ifdef HAVE_LIMITS_H
< # include <limits.h>
< # include <values.h>
< #endif /* HAVE_LIMITS_H */
> #include <values.h>
