Navit

Navit is a modular, touch screen friendly car navigation system with GPS tracking, a real-time routing engine, and support for various vector map formats. It features GTK+ and SDL user interfaces in addition to a GL-accelerated 3D view.

Release Notes: A lot of work has been done for this release. OSM search has been enhanced (now supports all ISO countries). The internal GUI is now fully configurable. There are more map drawing layouts, with automatic night mode. The Qt map drawer and Qt GUI have been enhanced. There are 52 translations. The Android build has been greatly improved. There are many bugfixes and other enhancements.

    Release Notes: Major improvements: configurable Vehicle Profiles (with samples for car, bike, horse, and pedestrian), a much more flexible OSD, and support for GPS receivers without static navigation enabled. Routing is now computed in the background. This release also brings many bugfixes and various improvements. It is now translated in 38 languages.

    Release Notes: This release is a major step forward. Searching in OSM has been greatly improved. There is a new, more user-friendly GUI called "internal" that is designed to be easy to use on touchscreens and small displays. WinCE support, an icon, 27 translations, and many other bugfixes and improvements.

    Release Notes: OpenStreetMap support has been greatly enhanced (navit now uses a binfile driver). Garmin support has been greatly enhanced (but routing is still being worked on). Some improvements were made for using navit under OpenMoko. Map interaction in GTK was implemented, so you can now "slide" the map by pressing the mouse button and dragging the map. A lot of bugfixes and other small improvements were made.

    Release Notes: Many bugfixes and new features, including support for Garmin img and OpenStreetMap.
