MyNewsGroups :)

MyNewsGroups :) is a USENET news client with a completely Web-based interface. It is written in PHP4, and uses a database backend. Its main purpose is to mirror all messages from subcribed public newsgroups into a database, and add extra features such as saving articles per user, statistics on users, search functions, and so on. MyNewsGroups :) is aimed at people that have a Web site and want offer their users direct access to newsgroups of same subject.

    Release Notes: The script and database schema have been optimized, a new search engine has been added, and the article tree is now DHTML based. Unread messages are now shown at the tree view. Two more languages has been added: Dutch and Japanese.

      Release Notes: An automatic article expiration system has been added. The articles of all the groups or only of some groups are automatically deleted. The theme system was revised and updated. Emergency installation was added if the installation script fails. Quite a lot of bugs were also fixed.

        Release Notes: A Protect Email Security feature was added as option to the System administration, which will help users to fight SPAM. Changes to the System configuration are now automatically reflected in the application (no need to restart the session). Quite a lot of important bugs were also fixed.

          Release Notes: This release comes with a few improvements to the user interface and to the article browsing experience. The page you're browsing is remembered, the article you're reading is highlighted, and now you can mark as read a whole thread or all the articles in a group. Some newsgroup related statistics have been added and a few bugs have been fixed.

            Release Notes: The long-awaited 0.5 release comes with the most-asked-for features: cron job support, master-detail administration, an installation wizard, register_globals OFF compatibility, and a new article downloading system that supports large initial imports.
