mu
mu is a collection of utilities for maildirs, in particular for indexing and searching them. mu fills a database with information about your emails, which can then be queried using an easy query language. It can work stand-alone or be integrated with a mail client like Mutt, and a simple graphical user-interface ("mug") is provided as well.

Release Notes: "mu find" now supports mail threading (using the JWZ algorithm) and execution of shell commands on matching messages. New GNU-Guile bindings let you inspect messages and get various statistics about them.

Release Notes: mu now supports wild-card searching in most fields: "mu find 'car*'". You can search for messages based on attachment file names and get colorized output using --color. There were some bugfixes and optimizations.

Release Notes: This release adds the 'cfind' command for finding contacts and exporting them to various programs. 'mutt' users can seamlessly integrate this for auto-completing names and email addresses. Also, you can now use 'flag:unread' as a shortcut for 'flag:new OR NOT flag:seen". Furthermore, improvements in the documentation and some optimizations.
