Mpiomon is a shell script that runs as a daemon and monitors all DM (device mapper) MPIO paths. It starts to beep when a path fails. Every event also triggers the email alert mechanism, which sends mail to one or more persons with the details of what's going on.
|Operating Systems||POSIX Linux|
Release Notes: Signal and pidfile handling were implemented. Daemonizing was fixed to properly detach from the terminal.
Release Notes: "mpiomon condrestart" no longer beeps, because it confused people if someone did a remote RPM update. In addition, "mpiomon status" now handles incorrect parameters with an error message.
Release Notes: While mpiomon needs to run as root, mpiomon status [failed|active] can now also be run as a non-root user. That is needed for integrating mpiomon into monitoring systems like Nagios, Zabbix, and others. The code has also been cleaned up to share more code with its sister project raidmon.
