• Major feature enhancements

Release Notes: A live encoding program (mp4live) which allows real-time production of MP4 files and/or network transmission of audio and video has been added. Player synchronization of audio and video for OSS supported platforms has been improved, as well as OpenDivX encoder performance. Interleaved audio RTP payload format support has been added. A number of bugs with the MP4 file library have been fixed, as well as compilation on Windows platforms.

• Major bugfixes

Release Notes: Fixes were made so that the package now builds on RedHat 6.1, 6.2, 7.0, and 7.1. The LAME MP3 encoder is now included. Fixes were made to play Philips MP4 files correctly. MMX routines for the OpenDivX encoder were enabled (x86 architectures only). The Darwin PlaylistBroadcaster was extended to control multicast IP TTL. Faac now handles UNIX paths correctly. Several bugs in mp4encode script were fixed. Interoperability between OpenDivX and ISO MPEG-4 video codecs was fixed, as well as RTSP interoperability problem with Darwin Streaming Server 2.0. The mp4encode script was updated to simplify the encoding process. The player now keeps history list. Some post-processing of video in the player was enabled. A mp4extract utility was added. avi2raw was fixed to handle zero length video frames in AVI file.

Release Notes: The software has been extended to include: OpenDivX MPEG-4 video encoder and decoder, MP3 audio in addition to AAC audio, Apple Darwin Streaming Server, support for MP4 file format, support for multicast streaming, fullscreen mode in player, and basic port of player to Windows.
