Release Notes: The MoviX package has been now split in two different projects: eMoviX and MoviX. eMoviX is a micro Linux distro to be embedded in a CD and able to boot from CD and automatically play any audi/video file you put inside [DivX, avi, mpg, mp3, ogg and so on]. MoviX is a mini-Linux distro that loads in RAM a small Linux distro able to play through a simple configurable console menu DVD, VCD, Audio CD, DivX, Avi, Mpg, Mp3, Ogg, network streams if you have a NIC and also TV if you have a TV card.
Release Notes: MPlayer has been recompiled with smarter flags and using gcc 3.2 to speed it up. Support for Dxr3/H+ cards and for the "aa" (ASCII art) driver has been added. The kernel config has been modified to make vmlinuz as small as possible. This is to make it possible to produce a MoviX floppy boot disk (FB support is now available as a module). A bug in mkmovixcd concerning isolinux.bin has been fixed. A patch for the Rage128 has been applied to mplayer, so maybe now it will display movies again in full color. Finally, the movix.pl script has been updated to take care of all the new stuff.
Release Notes: There is no new device support with this release, but a few new important features and some bug fixes. It now has a nice autoconfiguring installation mechanism, and it provides a script to easily produce bootable ISO images. The script also makes easy to choose from several mplayer font sets to display subtitles (supported sets are Czech, Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew, Polish, Russian and Turkish).
Release Notes: Now a unique kernel is used for each boot, and the movix script itself chooses the right driver for your video card. To improve the customizability of MoviX, a directory ".mplayer" has been left out from the initrd image to allow users to customize mplayer's fonts and config. New optimizization mplayer flags have been added. Last but not least, at the end of the movie a note will give instructions to the user on how play another movie without rebooting.
