Release Notes: MPlayer has been recompiled with smarter flags and using gcc 3.2 to speed it up. Support for Dxr3/H+ cards and for the "aa" (ASCII art) driver has been added. The kernel config has been modified to make vmlinuz as small as possible. This is to make it possible to produce a MoviX floppy boot disk (FB support is now available as a module). A bug in mkmovixcd concerning isolinux.bin has been fixed. A patch for the Rage128 has been applied to mplayer, so maybe now it will display movies again in full color. Finally, the movix.pl script has been updated to take care of all the new stuff.
Release Notes: There is no new device support with this release, but a few new important features and some bug fixes. It now has a nice autoconfiguring installation mechanism, and it provides a script to easily produce bootable ISO images. The script also makes easy to choose from several mplayer font sets to display subtitles (supported sets are Czech, Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew, Polish, Russian and Turkish).
Release Notes: This release contains a few fixes for the movix script. It is recommended only to Matrox & i810/815 users and to those who have a very noisy CD/DVD-ROM.
Release Notes: Now a unique kernel is used for each boot, and the movix script itself chooses the right driver for your video card. To improve the customizability of MoviX, a directory ".mplayer" has been left out from the initrd image to allow users to customize mplayer's fonts and config. New optimizization mplayer flags have been added. Last but not least, at the end of the movie a note will give instructions to the user on how play another movie without rebooting.
Release Notes: This is mainly a bugfix release. The booting labels have been simplified with respect to 0.4 and the choice between hw or sw driver is again done inside the movix.pl script (so GeForce again works with the default boot label). Optimizions for CD playback have been added to movix.pl. Eastern font problems have been solved, and Ogg Vorbis support has been added to mplayer.
Release Notes: MPlayer has been updated from 0.90pre6 to 0.90pre8. The VESA MPlayer interface is now available, which should allow more cards to work. Support for eastern languages has been added. The movix.pl script has been improved a lot, so mplayer now sequentially plays all movie files on the CD. Matrox support has been enhanced through the MGA mplayer interface.
Release Notes: This version adds support for nVIDIA and SiS chipsets, adds a search routine for the CDROM drive containing the MoviX CD, fixes the routine that sets the MPlayer "-vo" flag depending on the video chipset, redirects to /tmp/mplayer.log and /tmp/mplayer.err the output of mplayer for easier debugging, and eliminates the reboot command in case of audio/video problems (the movie will be played even if no audio card has been recognized).
