Release Notes: A crash in mkvmerge regarding the header removal compression that occurred often in version 4.1.0 has been fixed. mmg no longer adds .mmg files opened by job execution to the file menu's list of recently accessed files.

The handling of default values in mmg has been fixed. mkvmerge uses "header removal compression" for several track types. Muxing speed has been improved by caching write operations. Release Notes: This release introduces full WebM support for mkvmerge, mkvextract, and mmg. This consists of several restrictions for the WebM container, VP8 track support, and IVF container support. Several bugs reading Matroska/WebM files with elements with an unknown size have been fixed. mkvextract cannot extract FLAC into OggFLAC files anymore, only into raw FLAC files. mmg shows the estimated remaining time during muxing.
Release Notes: Translations into Russian and Ukrainian were added. The handling of non-spec compliant h.264 streams created by ffmpeg was fixed. A segfault in mkvmerge when reading certain Matroska files was fixed. mkvextract can handle ASS/SSA tracks that miss the "Text" format column. mkvpropedit and mmg's header editor can handle files created by Haali's muxer.
Release Notes: MP4 files created by current x264 versions and UTF-16 encoded chapters in MP4 files are handled correctly. The handling of damaged Matroska files has been greatly improved. Timestamps for interlaced MPEG-1/2 tracks are calculated correctly. mkvtoolnix can be compiled with MS Visual Studio and includes instructions for this and mingw. The programs now fall back to English if the system does not contain locales for the selected language instead of crashing. Several other crashes have been fixed.
Release Notes: Controls were added to mmg for mkvmerge's "--cropping" and "--segmentinfo" options. Tooltips are word-wrapped on Windows. Job files are saved in the application data folder. A crash when writing chapters to Matroska files was fixed. Handling of VOB files larger than 4GB and crashes on invalid XML files on Windows have been fixed for mkvmerge. mkvextract now only opens source files for reading, and proper error messages are shown if the source file cannot be read. A Chinese Simplified translation for the man pages was added.
Release Notes: The "add file" dialog didn't show some file types on Windows. Files created by Theora v1.1, SRT files with negative timestamps, and MP4 files with certain chapter formats are now read correctly. Extraction of Blu-Ray subtitles (S_HDMV/PGS) and an option for setting the segment UID have been added. VOB files that are split up (like on DVDs) are read automatically. mmg only suggests unique output file names by appending a running number. The header editor writes to files with an unknown segment size correctly. A Japanese translation of the man pages and a Chinese Simplified one of mmg's guide were added.
Release Notes: Support for showing the progress in Windows 7's taskbar was added. Translations work on Windows without the program having been installed via the setup.exe. The charset in cmd.exe has been fixed on Windows Vista and Windows 7 for non-English languages. mmg's header editor and mkvpropedit work correctly with files created by HandBrake.

Bugfixes include frame type detection for AVC/h264 video, reading AVC/h264 tracks from OGM files, proper handling of chapter language tags in mmg, crashes in mmg's chapter editor, audio sync issues with broken streams in AVI files, appending MPEG4 part 2 video tracks with aspect ratio information, wrong handling of default track flags, running mkvmerge from mmg from paths with spaces in its name, a couple of invalid memory accesses, and non-working interface language selection on Mac OS X.
