Release Notes: mmg had a problem with non-ASCII characters in combination with Unicode enabled wxWidgets. Minor problems with uninitialized variables and overly strict checks for track properties were fixed in mkvmerge.

  •  07 Oct 2004 19:43

Release Notes: The MP3 handling was broken for some rare cases as was the MP3 detection. The complete chapter and tag handling was rewritten. Support for the very old tagging system was dropped. Very large timecodes in Matroska files are now handled correctly. mkvextract now works faster for attachments, chapters, and tags. The support for raw FLAC files has been switched to another API and is considerably faster. Several problems regarding Matroska files created with older muxers have been fixed as well as some issues with MMG, compilation on Solaris, a couple of Endian bugs, and a small memleak.

Release Notes: OpenDML AVIs created with mencoder were not read correctly. The 'default track' feature was broken in both mkvmerge and mmg. mkvmerge can now read TTA audio files. When using CUE sheets as chapter files, mkvmerge will automatically convert the tags from the CUE sheet into Matroska tags and store them in the output file.

Release Notes: Several usability improvements were made in mmg. The controls in the job management dialog in mmg were not working correctly on Windows, and mmg didn't catch all of mkvmerge's output. mkvextract was broken on big endian systems. mkvmerge's --track-order parameter has been changed to work globally so that tracks can be selected arbitrarily. The guide to mmg has been updated.

Release Notes: The Ogg/OGM reader was not endian safe, and it broke on streams that lacked the comment packet. mmg's chapter editor was not keeping the language and country the user selected. The MP3 code has been improved to skip bogus but valid MP3 packets at the front of the stream which might occur when reading MP3 from AVIs. mmg's dialog layout has been overhauled and the "advanced" tab removed.

  •  06 May 2004 12:07

Release Notes: The RealMedia handling was broken again. Compilation with gcc 3.4 was fixed. Support for wxWidgets 2.5 in particular and Unicode enabled versions of wxWidgets in general was added. Files can be dragged and dropped onto mmg. mmg will ask the user for confirmation before overwriting files.

  •  23 Apr 2004 10:48

Release Notes: mmg was using 100% CPU on Linux. When merging with splitting, chapters were broken on rare occasions. The handling of RealMedia multi-rate files was fixed again. Compilation on big endian systems was fixed. The FLAC handling caused a crash on Windows. AAC tracks can be read from AVI files.

  •  01 Jan 2004 07:47

Release Notes: A lot of bugfixes were made all over the place, including mmg's chapter editor, the VobSub handling, the MP2 handling, the Vorbis timecode calculation, AAC-from-MP4 handling, and other places. New features include support for the simple tagging system and some usability fixes.

  •  02 Dec 2003 19:45

Release Notes: Some bugs in the VobSub handling code and in mmg have been fixed. A couple of new features for mmg's chapter editor have been added. The whole package is now more compatible with non-Linux Unices.

  •  20 Aug 2003 16:24

Release Notes: Some bugs with files bigger than 2GB and 4GB have been fixed. 64bit integer handling on Windows has been fixed, which could effect the subtitle handling in both mkvmerge and mkvextract. Several fixes to the Real demuxer have been made, which allow processing of slightly-broken files and more gracefully failures. SBR AAC (HE-AAC, AAC+) is now officially supported.
