Release Notes: New features include reading timecodes from a text file allowing externally controlled variable frame rate files, and complete VobSub support including compression. There are several bugfixes in various readers/packetizers, e.g. audio sync for Vorbis. mmg has an option for clearing all settings, and handles the "default track" flag correctly.
Release Notes: The GUI constructed the command line incorrectly in the case of multiple tracks of one type in a source file, and its abort button did not work on Windows. mkvextract wrote all extracted subtitle tracks to the first output file, and HE-AAC extraction was not working. mkvmerge has been sped up for some containers/track types, and it would abort after the second output file had been created during splitting if file linking was deactivated. All of these problems were fixed. Some small fixes to the RealAudio handler were made.
Release Notes: A full-featured chapter editor has been added to the GUI which can read chapters from text files and Matroska files, and save to both as well. Several bugs in mkvmerge have been fixed (in the Matroska parser, the RealVideo parser, the XML chapter parser, and the SRT parser). mkvmerge will now produce smaller files by omitting some of the file format's features which can be turned on manually. Support has been added for MP2 files in general and MP3 files with ID3 tags in particular.
Release Notes: A QuickTime/MP4 reader with support for AAC-in-MP4 (including AAC+/HE-AAC) was added. A full-featured GUI for mkvmerge was added. Full chapter support with XML chapter files was added. Several improvements were made to the Matroska parser.
Release Notes: This release improves all the error messages in mkvmerge, disables lacing by default, splits the meta seek entry into two entries (which removes the need to guess the meta seek size) fixes several small and large bugs in the Matroska reader, the tag parser, the Unicode handling, the RealMedia parser, and the MP3 packetizer, adds support for files with dropped frames, and adds almost all the missing Matroska elements to mkvinfo.
Release Notes: Some bugs with files bigger than 2GB and 4GB have been fixed. 64bit integer handling on Windows has been fixed, which could effect the subtitle handling in both mkvmerge and mkvextract. Several fixes to the Real demuxer have been made, which allow processing of slightly-broken files and more gracefully failures. SBR AAC (HE-AAC, AAC+) is now officially supported.
Release Notes: This release adds a lot of bugfixes in all programs. All tools contain new code for reading/handling global elements which re-enables processing of files created with other tools. In mkvmerge, several readers and packetizers have been fixed, among them the RealVideo handling, MP3 packetizing for other MPEG versions and layers, Matroska reading for slightly broken files, and the chapter handler which would crash on some occasions when file splitting was active. Tags are now fully supported, including MultiComment elements. The "dnet" RealAudio codec is just byte swapped AC3, and is being treated accordingly now.
Release Notes: mkvmerge now supports RealVideo, RealAudio, chapters, tags, and SSA/ASS files stored in UTF-16 files. A number of small subtitle reading bugs were fixed. mkvinfo can now output almost all tag and attachment elements along with some elements that were previously missing. mkvextract can additionally copy chapters, tags, and attachments from Matroska files into separate files.
Release Notes: This release adds a new program to the toolset: mkvextract. It can extract tracks from a Matroska file into other suitable files. mkvmerge changes include a better AAC parser that tries to automatically detect the emphasis field or its absence and an SSA/ASS reader. mkvinfo's output has been stripped a bit and it recognizes some new elements. Several bugfixes were made that directly affected the --language option.
Release Notes: A new switch, --identify, was added which prints information about a single file mkvmerge can read. All track specific switches now understand track IDs as reported by --identify and operate on a single track instead of the complete input file. A bug regarding the track selection for Matroska files was fixed.
