Release Notes: This release brings the SPARC port back to a usable state. There are numerous security fixes in the kernel (a local unpriveleged DoS), sendmail, OpenSSH, OpenSSL, httpd, etc. There are numerous bugfixes, e.g. in libc's wide char functions (grave), ftp(1), mksh(1), etc. There are several new ports (e.g. CVS for Mac OS/OpenBSD) and some updated software (e.g. icewm, centericq+gpgme, and lynx). Some software has been fixed and enhanced (e.g. gnupg, libjpeg, and libtiff). Stability improvements (don't thread g++ or Perl) have lead to minor ABI changes. The Live CD build system has been improved.
Release Notes: In comparison to the last stable release, MirOS #9 adds support for internationalisation, UTF-8, and iconv. An important bug in the dynamic linker was fixed, and a live CD was added. mksh, cpio, lynx, the fxp(4) driver, and other parts of the system were updated.
Release Notes: This snapshot contains functions for using multibyte and wide-character strings in libc, which allows for native handling of UTF-8 locales. The live CD infrastructure had some improvements, and the fxp(4) driver was updated.
Release Notes: This snapshot contains a live CD with the contents of the base system and X11. Many bugs were fixed in the base system.
Release Notes: Ports were fixed and expanded, small bugs in the infrastructure and installer were fixed, and the mtree database was synced with reality. MS patents on msdosfs are no longer infringed when the "USA" compile time option is used. Documentation fixes and updates were made. Binary compatibility with pre-#8 MirOS binaries was removed. The license was changed because it is a mix of OSD/DFSG compliant licences (plus GNU FDL), but not all have OSI approval.
Release Notes: This first snapshot after the #8release contains many bugfixes all over the system: in the installer, in the mtree files, and in the toolchain. A bug in ld that could cause segfaults on linking libraries was fixed.
Release Notes: This stable release improves the speed in many areas and includes updates of almost all components, including gcc and CVS. A binary emulation for OpenBSD (and MirOS #7) was added.
Release Notes: This snapshot includes numerous changes and bugfixes in the base system, as well security and other updates taken from OpenBSD. All languages in gcc (including Java and Pascal) are supported. The MirPorts framework has a new installer and many new features.
Release Notes: In this second release candidate for #8, several grave bugs in the C++ runtime have been fixed. There is now full support for Java, both gcj (in the base system) and Sun JDK 1.4.2 (in MirPorts).
Release Notes: This release candidate finally contains a fixed C++ compiler and runtime, and various bugfixes in the base system. Java (via gcj), small fixes, and documentation updates are still missing; rc2 will follow in a few days.
