Mama Mua

Mama Mua is an IMAP4 message user agent written in Python. It uses Tkinter and Pmw for the user interface. The standard Python run-time libraries do the rest. It is designed for a local network with a mail server.

    Release Notes: This release adds a simple preferences menu, the ability to open attachments, help on commands, and a warning message when a folder exceeds a configurable max size. Preferences and opening attachments require Python 2.x.

      Release Notes: Attachments are included when messages are forwarded. It is possible to reconnect to the server without having to restart Mama Mua.

        Release Notes: It is now possible to restore iconified window when a new message arrives. Message expire date has been implemented per folder. "Seen" status has been reworked so that it only relies on standard IMAP and the current session state. The mail notifier displays the number of new messages. HTML messages are parsed. A couple of bugs are fixed, such as a qouted printable bug in headers.

          Release Notes: A warning has been added to show when the size of the trash box exceeds a limit. Information related to mail addresses is now stored in the addressbook where it belongs. A pop-up window informs the user when new mail arrives. The window geometry is now saved between sessions. Bugfixes were made.
