MALODOS helps you to scan, store, and easily retrieve all your personal documents. Its storage format is open and documented, so your document archive can remain accessible even without MALODOS. The documents themselves are stored as standard PDF files, while their metadata (such as title, tags, and description) are stored into a separate SQLite database in an open format. With MALODOS, you can also manage existing files in PDF, JPEG, TIFF, and other formats, so you can still use the documents that you've already scanned. You can connect to any external OCR program to give access to a fulltext search feature.

The MALODOS help website (http://sites.google.com/site/malodospage/) is updated. All the new commands and features added since the 1.0 version are now explained in the documentation. In addition, the database scheme is finally documented (having a documented file format was the initial reason of the developement of MALODOS, so I think it's important to mention it, now it's done...)
Release Notes: Files can now be saved in PDF, JPG, BMP, PNG, and TIFF format. For multi-page documents, only PDF and TIFF files are available. Multiple documents can be joined together. Scan/file content can be added to the end of any document. It is now possible to search for parts of words (ie. searching for "visi" will also give documents containing television) or whole words. The search dialog help you to build complex document requests. A basket view allows you to re-group different documents in a set and apply any action to all of them. Some minor bugs were fixed.
Release Notes: The automatic scan option prevented the scan dialog from opening when checked; this has been fixed. This release adds confirmation before changing a record, if changes were entered and not saved. It adds confirmation before leaving the scan window if the images were not saved.
Release Notes: This release mainly removes bugs in the Windows version which prevented the user from scanning multi-page documents and would lead to distorted images. It adds a useful button to the scanner dialog (all OS versions) which allows adding a page to those already scanned in the current record.
Release Notes: This release fixes a bug preventing scan saving under Windows.
Release Notes: This release fixes a problem with some scanner where the scan options were set only for the first page in case of multiple page scanning. It adds a log file where all runtime errors are reported (which can be sent when reporting a bug). There are a few other minor bugfixes.
