MacTerm (formerly MacTelnet) is a complete terminal emulator for Mac OS X, for use with local or remote applications. It is also available for Classic Mac OS as a remote-only shell. It supports VT100, VT102, VT220, and parts of XTerm and ANSI, UTF-8 and other character sets, very accurate rendering of CP437 for use in BBS games, regular or tabbed windows, a full screen mode that works on up to two displays, dynamic search, powerful macros for entering text, running commands, and opening URLs, extensive preferences, including a flexible coloring and formatting system, Workspaces that spawn commands and auto-arrange windows, Growl notifications, text capture, floating keypads for control keys, and much more.

Release Notes: This is the first 4.1 build. It requires Mac OS X 10.6 or later (use release 4.0b20121129 on older systems). Major improvements to vector graphics. Faster terminal search. Import and export of preferences. More function key palette layouts. Animation and artwork improvements. Finder context menu integration. A low-level sandboxing option (not in the UI). Various UI bugfixes.
Release Notes: XTerm is its own base emulator. "Background Color Erase" now works and is the default, so full-window programs look much better. A major bug affecting control-C in "bash" was fixed along with display problems and other minor bugs. The address window now shows both IPv4 and IPv6. Saved session files remember the active macro set. Performance when pasting or dragging text was improved.
Release Notes: Major improvements were made to XTerm and VT220 terminal accuracy. performance during window resize was slightly boosted. A bug that could prevent erased text from disappearing immediately was fixed. Local Echo has been improved. Default color schemes were added. Various small refinements were made to Full Screen. MacTelnet Help was expanded. New toolbar icon artwork was added.
Release Notes: Fixes were made for terminal display, text selection, and keyboard focus bugs. Support was added for XTerm sequences that change all 256 colors. Scrolling performance was improved. Alignment of proportional fonts was improved. Tab stacking was made more intelligent. A Python module can be automatically imported to allow customizations. Other minor bugs were fixed.
Release Notes: Bugs were fixed for VT102 insertion and deletion, terminal double-clicking, crashes, preferences problems, and minor issues. New commands were added to nudge windows in any direction using the keyboard. Terminal search is faster. CP-437 (DOS character set) rendering was improved. Speech contextual menu commands have been restored. A Python API was added to define the meaning of double-clicked words.
