LooperDB is a secure, multithreaded alert database used primarily for network/security management. It is indended to be used as a central MoM (manager-of-managers) platform to collect, consolidate, and correlate event messages. When coupled with looper, LooperDB can provide the framework for a sophisticated alert management infrastructure.

Release Notes: This release includes support for dlmalloc on OSes with older (less efficient) memory allocation functions, separates the database layer, which means support for other databases can be easily added, and has completely rewritten the authentication subsystem, which now runs as a separate server thread. This means that only one instance of the auth DB is open, speeding up connection times, etc. There is improved thread safety and concurrency across DB calls, a new command 'set' was added to get/set ldb client environment variables, a new housekeeping database, and history tables (presently unused). The logging and error handling was improved.
