Release Notes: Two classes of problem reports have been received regarding the recently released LILO 22.5. Both problems have been tracked to BIOS glitches on certain systems. Both problems are addressed with this update. Also, the boot sector backup mechanism is now handled in a more consistent fashion. The diagnostic floppies are now issued as image files suitable for booting from the LILO prompt. #2 now contains code to test and report on the known BIOS glitches.

Release Notes: Booting is based upon industry-standard volume labels (s/n), which are translated to BIOS device codes. Changes in the disk configuration which cause the BIOS to assign device codes in a different order should be transparent to the user. 256-color bitmap boot screens are now supported using VESA video BIOS extensions. Both RGB and RLE encoded *.bmp files are supported. Virtual booting is supported with the new keywords 'vmdefault', 'vmdisable', and 'vmwarn'.

Release Notes: DR-DOS/Windows compatible volume labels are used to make booting more flexible and reliable in an environment where disks are switched in and out. Graphic support for 640 x 480 x 256 color bitmaps using VESA mode 0x101 is added. A keyword 'master-boot' is added to "other=" sections for booting DOS, Windows, and OS/2 from drives other than the first drive. There are also cleanups and bugfixes in the RAID1 support.

Release Notes: This release fxes two typographical errors in the source code. These are hidden by some versions (notably 2.96) of the gcc pre-processor. It is otherwise identical to version 22.4, which is still usable.

Release Notes: This release is based upon Werner Almesberger's LILO version 21. Virtual booting is supported with the new keywords 'vmdefault', 'vmdisable', and 'vmwarn'. Versions 22.3, 22.2, 22.1, and 22.0 are major updates to version 21. The version 22 RAID 1 implementation is not compatible with version 21. Those using version 21 should read 'README.raid1' before installing.

Release Notes: New keywords (vmdefault, vmdisable, and vmwarn) were added per requests from VMware users. vmdefault specifies the virtual boot default image, analogous to default for real mode boot. vmdisable disables an image for virtual boot; vmwarn flags an image during virtual boot. There are no apparent changes to users who only perform real-mode boots.
