Release Notes: Corrects minor problems and adds a new option to the "mkrescue" utility: an "--iso --size HD" option to create a rescue CD able to accommodate very large kernel/initrd combinations. The standalone diagnostics are also updated.
Release Notes: This version adds the keyword "unattended" for noisy serial line boot consoles. It provides for compilation on 64-bit Linux (IA-64), removes NASM dependency for compilation, allows "root=" to use "LABEL=name" syntax, adds the local image descriptor keyword "addappend=", provides for servers with many hard disks, and adds workarounds for known BIOS incompatibilities.
Release Notes: The NASM dependency for compilation on the x86_64 platform has been removed. The 'dev86' package (i386 version ok) is still required. Compilation is clean on Fedora Core 2 (x86_64), after dev86 is installed from the i386 RPM. This is a debug release (minor version > 50), which turns on verbose boot-time debug output. It is fully functional when compiled in either the i386 or x86_64 environment.
Release Notes: This is the first test release for compilation in the IA64 environment, in addition to the i386 environment. It contains all of the updates included in previous "beta3" release for compilation with 2.6 kernel headers and glibc 2.0 to 2.3, inclusive.
Release Notes: A new "unattended" keyword was added for noisy serial lines, which prevents garbage characters from stopping the timer. Several compilation issues with newer versions of glibc (2.3.3) and with the Linux kernel headers (2.6.6) were fixed. The distribution is a patch file in the "beta" subdirectory, and applies to the 22.5.9 source code in the main directory.
Release Notes: The "Timestamp mismatch" error which occurs when adding a new disk to a system has been addressed. A new keyword, "bmp-retain", was added for folks using splash screens on startup. Minor code changes to increase one text buffer and to ease compilation on version 2.4 kernel headers were added. 2.6 kernel headers are sometimes incomplete when all default compilation features are enabled (LVM, in particular).
Release Notes: The keyword "max-partitions" has been added for developers of new disk drivers. The -r flag has been fixed so that /proc/partitions is opened before the chroot. The volume ID disk scan bypasses disks marked "inaccessible".
Release Notes: This version allows USB drives to be marked "inaccessible", avoiding errors during the Volume ID scan. The same applies to hardware RAID controllers, where the underlying drives must not be confused with the RAID device. Software RAID1 partitions and codes are unaffected. This version fixes an issue where the 256 color bitmaps allowed specification of colors above 15.
Release Notes: This release contains the promised update for the 'devfs' problem with multiple SCSI drives. There are other accumulated updates. The binary and source distributions are updated.
Release Notes: Update with all the accumulated minor patches to the previous version. A rewritten first-stage loader has been added to eliminate the FF (screen clear) on startup in favor of a true Video Enable call, which was used previously, but eliminated in recent versions due to code space constraints.
