LightBlue is a cross-platform Python Bluetooth API for Mac OS X, GNU/Linux, and Python For Series 60. It provides easy programmatic access to device and service discovery, RFCOMM sockets, L2CAP client sockets, sending and receiving files over OBEX, service advertising, and local device information.

Release Notes: This version changes the license to GPL and also contains bugfixes for the library on Mac OS X.

The library also now works on Mac OS 10.5, and the BTUtil framework has been renamed to "LightAquaBlue" and has been completely rewritten. The internals of the Linux OBEX client and server implementations have also been completely rewritten to be more flexible and more easily customized. Various Unicode-related bugs have also been fixed.
