Release Notes: Mounting large postgresql tables is now substantially faster. Postgresql mounts now support remove() for tuples. Updates were made for rsync with ferrisfs. The eanames-to-index-regex whitelist was added to improve performance when adding to metadata indexes. idxmgr-explicit-eanames-to-index-k was added for significant performance improvements for some filesystems. Postgresql metadata indexing was updated. Special char escaping in EANameToSQLColumnName() was improved. Initial optional support was added for using libgist (monkeyiq fork). Many improvements were made to ferris-lattice-from-cfi.
Release Notes: This release adds support for mounting Web photo services like 23hq.com and flickr.com and support for f-spot tags. mountDOM() is now faster. Copy operations now write to ferris-post-copy-action to give the destination a chance to link metadata to the source.
Release Notes: Libferris is now exported as a native XQilla data model. The ferris-xqilla command line tool was added for running XQuery against filesystems. ferris-xqilla exports ferris-doc() to access many points in your filesystem as xqilla documents. A PostgreSQL function may be mounted as a filesystem. Shortcut loading of mounted db4 files was added. The gphoto2 module was updated. An update was made to Context::begin() handling for items which have been deleted via filesystem events. All mounted XML files now have libferris-element-name and libferris-element-number EA.
Release Notes: Initial optional DBus support was added. Native mbox mounting now has incremental indexing for faster subsequent mounts. The xpath:// filesystem now uses XQilla. A bad interaction between internal globbing and the xpath:// filesystem was fixed. ferris-myrdf-query can now present results in XML using the new --xml option. The ./configure script now detects if readlinkat() is available and disables the libmpeg3 plugin by default.
Release Notes: The command line clients (ferrisls, ferriscp, ferrismv, ferrisrm, ftouch, and fcat) can now perform globbing. This allows globbing to be performed on URLs that only apply to libferris, like postgresql://. EAs such as md5 now give sane results when read on devices like /dev/zero. The mimetype-from-content EA now handles special files. The getURL() code was updated for some xsltfs:// contexts. Support for viewing Formal Concept Analysis in Relation Browser was updated. Work was started on ferris-xml-edit, a general purpose streaming XML editing tool.
Release Notes: The ability to mount xmms and amarok was added. CLucene plugins were ported to the 0.9.x API. Updates were made to configure.ac. A new exif:flash-fired boolean EA was added, which shows part of exif:flash.
Release Notes: A fix was made for a $libdir regression in FullTextIndexerMetaInterface introduced with the 1.1.100 release. A new dont-descend-regex option was added for ferrisls. Updates were made for ferrisls -R. Many updates were made to the Formal Concept Analysis index search code. EAIndexes are now opened read/write if access(2) allows write.
Release Notes: The sqlplus plugin was updated to the 2.1.x API. The configure script was updated, so fast install is now on by default, --enable-postgresql-tsearch2-indexing is on if postgresql is found, --enable-kde-extractor is on if KDE3 is found, and many new --disable-foo options were added to explicitly disable detection of libraries. Minor updates were made to xsltfs://. ferris-capplet-auth now includes postgresql support. ferrisls --xml now creates a DOM and serializes it using xerces-c. The new --xmle ferrisls option allows binary data to be presented base64 encoded. The branches:// filesystem was updated. a bug in FerrisUI/Menus.cpp was fixed.
Release Notes: This release improves the interface for plugin registration, allowing dynamic installation of indexing plugins. ferrisls can now present its results as RDF. Federate indexes can now perform URL substitutions for matching document paths. Read-only db4 files can now be mounted. PostgreSQL index plugins can now read their configuration files from read-only NFS shares. A new ferris-myrdf-inference performs offline RDF smushing.
Release Notes: New Clucene 0.8.x fulltext and metadata index modules were included along with a new Xapian metadata index module. There were updates for single term redland metadata index queries, and the redland metadata index module now uses db environments where available. libferris-googleearth now also falls back to /usr/local/bin for the libferris-googleearth-bouncer.pl path and supports miles as a unit in geographic queries. A new "Global Smush Group Leader Regex" was added to indicate URLs which are always new content.
