    Release Notes: This release features an updated German translation and improves support for the TAR and PDF formats. MIME-type detection for OLE2 streams was improved. The extract tool now returns an error code if files passed as arguments could not be accessed. A double-free problem under BSD was fixed.

      Release Notes: This release fixes a minor packageing error with the internationalization. It also removes some print statements in the OLE2 plugin that were printed for malformed OLE2 streams.

        Release Notes: This release fixes various problems with the decompression code. In particular, it adds support for older versions of zlib. Various warnings related to gcc 4.0 were fixed. Files are now mmapped read-only, which may improve performance, depending on the operating system. The exiv2 extractor no longer copies the file in memory. The HTML extractor was rewritten to make it simpler and more robust.

          Release Notes: This release fixed a linking problem on certain platforms. Minor bugfixes were ported from libgsf to the OLE2 extractor. MIME types are now detected for various Microsoft Office formats. libextractor now automatically decompresses GZ and BZ2 files before extracting keywords, adding support for compressed files to all formats.

            Release Notes: This release fixed a memory leak and character set issues for OLE2 streams. A workaround for a bug in libstdc++ that could cause a segmentation fault under special circumstances was added. Quotations now follow GNU conventions.

              Release Notes: This release fixes bugs in the exiv2, OpenOffice, and OLE2 plugins. A static relocatable version of glib is no longer required. The getKeywords2 function is now included in the code.

                Release Notes: This release adds support for exiv2. The API was extended to allow in-memory metadata extraction (no filename is required). A minor compile error was fixed.

                  Release Notes: This release moves the Python and Java bindings into separate packages. The libextractor build process was streamlined and some of the libextractor code was cleaned up.

                      Release Notes: This release fixes some bugs in the ID3, PDF, PNG, and REAL extractors. The REAL extractor now also handles the new Helix formats. libextractor can now also be used to extract thumbnails from images.
