    Release Notes: Even more formats can be viewed. The tags and statistics of MP3 files can be shown using mp3info. Unknown binary data can be filtered to show only the ASCII strings they contain. Experimental support for ASCII-art was added, but is disabled by default. pstotext is used instead of ps2ascii if it is available. html2text is used instead of lynx if it is available. Minor bugs in the configure script were corrected.

      Release Notes: The configure script now uses "/usr/bin/env perl" to run perl, avoiding the need to specify the path to perl. A missing #endif was corrected.

        Release Notes: The output for .deb files was enhanced. The default script language is now bash on Linux systems, and ksh on all other platforms. The required program 'file' (GNU version) is now also searched for as 'gfile' by configure.

          Release Notes: Support for Postscript and DVI format and for compressed files using the pack algorithm, enhanced processing of *roff files (.me and .ms files, respect LANG=jp), and an enhanced configure script to check more precisely for working shell versions.

            Release Notes: The --yes option was added to configure to allow for unattended installs. A bug that prevented HTML filtering for (t)csh users was fixed. The target 'clean' was added to the Makefile.

              Release Notes: lesspipe.sh now supports the RTF file format via unrtf. The configure script does more sanity checks. More documentation has been added.

                Release Notes: Configure script was slightly improved and now generates a simple Makefile. A minor problem with viewing HTML output (was sometimes displayed as HTML source) was fixed.

                  Release Notes: Added support for removable media via the /dev/xxx files, as well as support for unmounted DOS Filesystems, using the mtools command suite. Now recognizes file type "... text executable" as text, not as binary. Some other small changes have been made.
