Release Notes: Microsoft signed the project's shim, so it now supports Secure Boot. The booloader features automatic kernel selection (486 for older systems, 686-pae for newer systems). The integrated backup software has been translated into several languages. Many software packages (GeoGebra, Iceweasel, NVIDIA drivers, etc.) were upgraded.
Release Notes: The default filesystem for the exchange partition was reverted to FAT32 because rdiff-backup does not (yet) support exFAT. The system partition now uses ext4 to support files larger than 4GB. A separate FAT32 boot partition was added. A desktop notification is now shown if an error occurs in the automatic backup process. Iceweasel and the NVIDIA drivers were upgraded.
Release Notes: The Linux kernel was upgraded to 3.12. Support for different filesystems (exFAT, FAT32, NTFS) for the exchange partition was added, and the new default is exFAT. Storage media management now has improved support for newer USB flash drives which are missing the removable flag. The firewall module now supports port ranges. Some software packages (Virtualbox, Java, NVIDIA drivers, HPLIP drivers) were upgraded.
Release Notes: The firewall configuration module now has a syntax checker. External backup partitions are now mounted in a root-only subdirectory to prevent user access independently from the backup partition file system. The firmware packages for wireless cards were added. Printers can now be configured via KDE systemsettings. Many software packages (Linux kernel, LibreOffice, VirtualBox, Java, fglrx, and nvidia drivers, HP printer drivers, etc.) were upgraded.
Release Notes: To better protect against hardware failures, the continuous backup can now also use external partitions as a backup target. For scientific evaluation of exam situations, an option for automatic screenshot creation was added. The GUI of JBackpack, the integrated solution for restoring data, was simplified. Access rights to the exchange partiton can now be configured. The usual printer drivers were added so network printers can not only be put into a whitelist, but actually be used. A remote management solution was integrated. Some applications were updated.
Release Notes: A continuous backup solution (based on rdiff-backup) was integrated and can be optionally activated. Per default, the complete home directory of the user is backed up to the exchange partition in regular intervals. This way the damage that could be caused by accidental file deletions in exam situations is minimized. The backup details (source directory, destination directory, and frequency) can be customized. LibreOffice, Iceweasel, gretl, and the NVIDIA GPU drivers were updated.
Release Notes: Administrative system access is now possible and secured by a password. Certain network connections (e.g. to network printers or Web sites) can now be allowed in a whitelist. The computer algebra system wxMaxima was added.
