Version 11.10 of Kubuntu

Release Notes: This release includes KDE 4.7.1, Amarok 2.4.3, a new suite of tools for installing and managing software (Muon Software Center and Muon Package Manager), Linux kernel 3.0, Upstart 1.3, GCC 4.6, and many other updates to software packages. All ISO images are now hybrid CD/USB images that can be written directly to a USB disk. This version also introduces Kubuntu-Low-Fat-Settings: a collection of configuration options that reduce memory usage and even speed up KDE's loading time.

It introduces support for installing Plasma widgets. Version 2 of the Rekonq Web browser adds many new features. Homerun is a full screen alternative to the Kickoff application menu. A new screen management tool makes it easy to attach and unattach extra monitors. Available on the default install is a new font: Oxygen Sans.

The 12.10 images need to be installed from a DVD or USB drive.

Linux kernel 3.2.14 was included. This is a long-term support (LTS) release, which means it is supported for 5 years.
