kload
kload is a kicker applet showing current info about your system. It shows system uptime, system load, transfered network bytes, network speed, and RAM and SWAP usage. Most monitoring apps are too big and don't fit anywhere on the screen, which is why this one was created. It shows stats simply, as a number instead of a graph.

Release Notes: A size problem and infos precision were fixed. A general optimization was made. A config window was made. Every stats type is now an option. The display of certain network interfaces can be prevented. An option to show RAM and SWAP as percentages was added. Shift with the left mouse button can be pressed to go backward. Info selection capabilities through RMB were implemented. More info was added to the help window. The latest current showing is kept in the config file. The network info was made a bit prettier. An ebuild is available.
