Release Notes: A number of changes around ease of use and a serious expansion of the possibilities in general.

Release Notes: Data and metadata were separated to reduce object creation and improve performance. Faster flat file support was added, including parallel reading and lazy conversion. Release Notes: This point release fixes around 40 bugs, a couple of which are considered to be critical. A new Excel Output step, over 30 samples, and a set of internal environment variables were added. A data warehouse guide and a conceptual overview were added to the documentation. Major cleanup was done to the job handling and chef.


Release Notes: Performance enhancements were made. Error handling code for reading text / excel files was added. New steps were added: Delete, Value mapper, Set Variable, Get Variable, Get File names, Get files from result, Set files in result, and Blocking. Meta-data searching, new parameter functionality, and repository export and import were added. Localizations were made for English, Chinese, French, German, and Dutch. Enhancements were made to the existing steps and job entries. Logging was improved. Fixed target mapping is now easier. The look & feel was improved.


Release Notes: All verified reported bugs were fixed (24 fixes since 2.2.0). New features include XML input, XML output, denormaliser, flattener, mappings, constants, and the HTTP job entry. A number of steps were also enhanced, including text file input (paged layouts, wrapped lines, etc.), encoding support for text files, and many other things. The documentation was completely updated. Kettle now has 44 available step types, 11 job entry types, and supports 19 databases.


Release Notes: Eleven bugs were fixed and eight change requests were implemented. SFTP job entry, a new Mappings step, and a new Merge Rows step (to detect changes between data sets) were added. A table name is now accepted in a field. GroupBy now outputs original rows with the grouping results. An NVL function was added to the calculator to replace a Null value with the field value. Error reporting for plugins was improved. jTDS was upgraded to version 1.2 for better SQL Server 2005 support. An XMLInput step (which reads any XML file) was added experimentally.
