Kedge is a small utility app designed to do edge-sensitive virtual-desktop switching with your mouse in KDE 2.x and 3.x, like in GNOME.

Not necessary for KDE3?
You can switch on active window borders under
kcontrol->LooknFeel->Windows
Properties->Advanced->Active Window Borders
