Kasound is a simple tool for the configuration of ALSA settings. It can be used to enable software mixing (dmix), resampling, and format conversion. It aims to be a complete frontend for the ALSA configuration file, .asoundrc.

Release Notes: Configuration of OSS Emulation device numbers was added along with preliminary support for internationalization. GUI consistence was fixed along with many small and large bugs.


Release Notes: Support for surround sound channel mapping was added (using the route plugin). Channel mapping may be configured manually by assigning individual channels or automatically using surround modes. Support for the asym plugin was completed, and many outstanding bugs were fixed.
