JoyWM (formerly known as Linux Multimedia System or LMMS) is a multimedia GUI written in Python/Pygame. It provides an easy-to-use GUI for tasks such as listening to music, watching movies, viewing pictures, and playing some games. It is appropriate for use on a TV and can be controlled with a joystick (or a keyboard if no joystick is present).

Recent releases


Release Notes: A Movie Player bug has been fixed (when finished playing a movie, nothing happened until you press 'B'). A new widget has been added called vkeyboard. It's a virtual on-screen keyboard. Pressing 'A+B+X+Y' simultaneously will quit playing ROMs with DGen and ZSNES. There are several minor changes.


Release Notes: A few bugs have been fixed, and the problem with the absolute paths has been fixed (/opt/joywm/ is no longer necessary). The main theme has been resized to 1600x1200 (standard resolution is now 1024x768).


Release Notes: The program was renamed from LMMS to JoyWM. All widgets were cleaned up. mplayer is now used to handle all audio and video files instead of pymedia.
