Release Notes: Fixed mkfs to display the correct error message if device name is not valid or missing. Fixed mkfs to properly setup buf_ai (caused Bus error with mkfs on SPARC Linux). Fixed fsck to display path correctly, and fixed multiple truncate hang. Fixed hang on unlink a file and sync from happening at the same time. Improved handling of kmalloc error conditions.
Release Notes: This release includes fixes to the file system and utilities. There is now a patch being provided that will make it easier to move from release 1.0.0 to 1.0.1. The patch file is call jfs-1_0_0-to-1_0_0.patch.gz. The jfsprogs.spec file was updated to make it work on more distributions. A "force" option was added to mkfs to avoid the confirmation message. fsck was fixed to handle the index table on the root directory. The built utilities are now placed in /sbin instead of /usr/sbin when using "make install". A hang during copying files on the 2.2.x series was fixed. A TxLock compile problem was fixed. The number of blocks for directories is now correctly updated. A fix was made to prevent old data from being written to disk from the page cache.
Release Notes: Fixes to the file system and utilities.
Release Notes: Fixes to the file system and utilities, updated fsck error handling, updated mkfs config options and the man page for fsck, increased performance when unlinking files (most unlinks are done asynchronously), a fix for "XT_GETPAGE: xtree page corrupt" during creating files on an NFS-mounted partition, and more.
Release Notes: Fixes to the file system and utilities (a fsck fix to handle pre-existing lost+found sub dir, a fix for a hang waiting on inode, a fix for a dbench hang on SMP 8-way, and a fix for a log sync problem to improve performance).
Release Notes: This release includes fixes to the file system and the utilities. Fixed fsck to handle mount read-only correctly, and fixed top level utilities makefile so it is able to easily overide version of gcc compiler. Man pages are now available in html format. Fixed statfs call to return the maximum number of inodes that JFS could allocate. Fix to handle a case where a inode wasn't getting written to disk. General SMP fixes.
Release Notes: Fixes to the file system and utilities, removal of the warning message from fsck when partition is mounted read-only, a fix for assert(mp->count) jfs_metapage.c 675! report as hardlink problem in drop 31 (dtDeleteUp was discarding the wrong metapage_t.), a fix for a segfault while creating hard links, a fix for a dbench hang due to transaction locks not being freed, support to correctly handle read-only and remounting the file system, and more.
Release Notes: This release includes fixes to the file system and utilities. For more details about the problems fixed, please see the README.
Release Notes: This release includes fixes to the file system. The rest of the utilities have been changed to use standard types. Both the file system and the utilities have been changed to use endian macros, so that JFS will now store the meta-data as little endian when running on all architectures. With this change, you must reformat all of the JFS partitions using the new mkfs.jfs included in this drop, if you are running on a big-endian system.
