Jex is a WYSIWYG mathematical equation editor for OpenOffice.org 2.0. It is written in Java for cross-platform portability. TeX, MathML, and Mathtype are supported as external formats. Conversion of documents to and from TeX is supported.

Release Notes: Jex has been updated to work with Openoffice 2.0 and is now released under the GPL. Equations are better aligned in variable spaced text. Numerous bugs have been quashed, and more TeX is supported. Major new features include the ability to read Mathtype equations, to import and export entire documents to and from TeX, and the ability to update all equations in a document.
